Tilia Impact Ventures will support the growth of MIWA Technologies

Investment fund Tilia Impact Ventures (https://tiliaimpactventures.cz/en), the first fund in the Czech Republic focused on investing in companies with a strong societal impact, decided to invest in MIWA Technologies (http://www.miwa.eu/), a circular economy start-up with global ambitions. The convertible loan will enable the company to accelerate the development of its business activities in Western Europe (in cooperation with major partners such as Nestlé) and the development of its business in general (e.g. customer sales, further technological development, marketing and related personnel costs). Working with Tilia Impact Ventures will also help bring more international partners and investors. Havel & Partners Law Firm collaborated on preparation of the transaction.

“We are happy that our second investment is focused on the circular economy sector and on a company with global ambitions and a goal of achieving the greatest social impact,” says Silke Horáková, co-founder of Tilia Impact Ventures. “Being the first institutional investor of MIWA, Tilia Impact Ventures would like to attract other impact investors from our network to the company,” she adds.

“I am very pleased that the first commercial implementation of MIWA technology comes hand in hand with the first investor. With Tilia impact fund we are mainly connected by the same values and goal of helping with waste prevention, ” says MIWA founder Petr Báča. “Furthermore, we also appreciate Tilia’s experience in the classic business and their ability to help us move further in this respect,” he adds.
MIWA Technologies
MIWA Technologies is a technology company focusing on the development, implementation and
popularisation of solutions leading to the prevention of waste. It has developed a unique system for the
distribution, sale and purchase of unpackaged goods based on refillable transport and consumer packaging.
The MIWA (MInimum WAste) solution uses hardware and software to interconnect the entire supplier chain
into a business ecosystem that enables the creation of a model for the distribution of unpackaged goods
based on the principles of a circular economy and, thereby, the practical elimination of single-use transport
and packaging waste.
